ASUG (American SAP User Group) Conference
Portland, Oregon
Intel Facilities
March 24th & 25th 2010
Exciting times for coresystems!
On 22nd of March 2010, coresystems USA officially started and got set up in New York, at their office on Madison Avenue. Already from the start presentations, meetings, demos and so on were all scheduled.
However, the highlight of coresystems’ first week in North America was definitely the invitation to present at the American SAP User Group meeting on March 24th and 25th in Portland, Oregon. This invitation followed after the successful demo of coresystems at the SAP Partner Summit 2010 in Vegas, from the Chair of the VAR Advisory Board.
The conference started off with a nice little reception party which allowed attendants to network among one another before the meeting would start the following day. Also another exciting event had taken place for coresystems in this same week: the beta version of their mobile app had been positioned in the App Store of Apple! – The networking reception was a great occasion to informally demo the beautiful mobile app on the actual iPhone – what on one hand was great as it attracted a lot of attention and on the other hand like this tempted people to come for the demo session the following day.
The next day started off with a plenary session and then individual tracks for SAP Business One and SAP R/3. During the one hour session of coresystems – after a brief introduction of the company and their basic solutions such as the coresuite country package, time as well as eCommerce – the focus turned to the future of SAP Business One 8.8. with coresystems. The next generation apps were presented and received a great response from the represented user group. Many of the attendants were so impressed that they actually downloaded and installed the mobile app on site!
Being able to meet with actual users of SAP Business One and feeling out their needs, was a great experience for coresystems and also a great method of receiving very valuable inputs and feedback. In the Q&A session, many very insightful questions were discussed and ideas for future innovations were generated.
Based on the great response received, coresystems at the event itself, received invitations to present on April 6th 2010 at the ASUG meeting in San Francisco, California as well as at the national ASUG meeting coming up in August in the Nike headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
At the end there was a raffle and all were competing to win the Swiss Army Knife that coresystems had brought along from their headquarters in Switzerland!
SAP Partner Summit 2010
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
February 28th to March 1st 2010
Based on the highly successful presentation of coresystems’ CEO, Manuel Grenacher, at the SAP Influencer Summit in Boston in December 2009, coresystems got invited to co-present with SAP at the SAP Partner Summit in Las Vegas. The slot was focused on the Co-Innovation projects that the development of SAP Business One had initiated with coresystems in conjunction with their release of SAP Business One 8.8.
coresystems USA was founded towards the end of 2009 and the official launch of the office in New York City was scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2010. It was an absolute thrill that before coresystems at all was actually present in North America, they already received their first invitation to present at one of the most important North American partner events. This slot at the Summit in Vegas was the first public appearance of coresystems USA and it was a very exciting moment for the entire coresystems team.
The session at the Partner Summit was held together with the VP of SAP development from the SAP headquarters in Walldorf, Germany and the General Manager of coresystems USA, Arti Sahgal.
Besides an introduction to the entire idea of Co-Innovation from side of SAP, the focus of the slot was to demonstrate the new face of SAP Business One 8.8. – reaching its peek with the gadgets, widgets and mash-ups provided by coresystems.
Many of the present VARs and SSPs who were unfamiliar with the solutions of coresystems or who had just briefly heard of coresuite as a very strong solution in Europe, were curious and visited the session. It was a thrilling moment: The audience was all excited and was awaiting the face of the next generation of Business One with coresystems in high expectations. The room was overfilled and spectators had to stand in the back to be able to catch a glimpse of the show. Embedded real-time analytics, Web 2.0 integration – collaborative interactive tools to optimize business processes, mobile integration, service maps – we had it all.
First the sales work space was introduced, illustrating integrated dashboards, easy set-up of an eCommerce store in 7 clicks seamlessly linked to SAP Business One, social network integration, mobile App and much more – the partners loved it!
In the second part of the demo, the service management desk based on Google maps was demonstrated. The audience was fascinated by the idea of having an interactive map linked to the mobile app to ideally manage field staff. Also the easy of creating activities and recording efforts on service calls via the mobile app was welcomed with applause.
All in all, the warm welcome of coresystems USA was overwhelming! The SAP Partner Summit 2010 in Las Vegas, was a huge success for coresystems and their positioning in the North American market.
Howlett at ZDNet: Good example of Co-Innovation with SAP
Dennis Howlett with a public comment about coresuite.com apps for SAP and Co-Innovation at ZDNet.com:
It’s a good example of how a small partner can take the agile ethos of the startup and apply it to an otherwise maturing solution. It breathes new life into the main product while adding value. Yes, it’s a co-innovation with SAP and to be much admired. Co-incidentally, I was speaking with a Gartner analyst about Coresuite and we agreed there is much to be admired in their approach and delivery.
I wish though that SAP would corral these types of company and put them front and center. It would silence those who think SAP has become moribund or that its solutions are losing their relevance. At the customer end, it would demonstrate that while all the buzz may be around the cloud, the business reality is one of extension and transition.
This last point is critical. Unlike those that trumpet the cloud as being goodness in itself, such solutions recognize that companies will not simply rip and replace for the cloud but will augment and mine value from what they have already. Its a logical coexistence that helps customers see enhanced value rather than scaring them into something that might prove painful. It is a practical adaptation that combines the best of on-premise with the advantages of extending via cloud technologies. It is a strategy I see being successfully followed elsewhere. It makes good business sense.

coresystems together with SAP have co-innovated apps that are easily installable by the user without implementation costs directly into the SAP Workspace (within Business One) and can relate to the SAP Business One objects. The coresuite framework is the stable platform which enables such integration between social networking websites and the SAP Business One objects and transactions. Convenient bundling of ERP system and online shop
Hamburg; 07 January 2010 – ePages — a leading provider of on-demand online shops and company Web sites — is now partnering with coresystems, an SAP Business One Gold Partner, to deliver seamless integration of ePages online shops with an ERP application: SAP Business One. A comprehensive solution tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), “ePages for SAP Business One”, helps entrepreneurs tap new sales channels and boost sales — while reducing costs associated with sales/marketing and order processing. This innovative solution has been certified by SAP and designated as an “Advantage Solution”.
Thanks to the new on-demand packages “ePages Base, ready for SAP Business One”, “ePages Base for SAP Business One” and “ePages Flex for SAP Business One”, SMEs with an existing SAP Business One application can quickly and easily enter the world of e-business — on their own and without costly fees for consulting and implementation. A single monthly rental fee covers the ePages application and the interface to SAP Business One as well as hosting, regular updates, support services and system management.
Small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, must manage money cost-consciously. The automisation of processes and tapping of the Internet as a sales channel can be complicated and resource-hungry, thus comprising a genuine challenge. “Thanks to our new offer, it couldn’t be easier for SMEs to professionally establish themselves in online business: with SAP Business One integration on the one hand and very reasonable costs as well as negligible technological investment on the other hand”, explains Wilfried Beeck, CEO of ePages.
“We had already successfully integrated SAP Business One and ePages online shops in the scope of projects. This new, on-demand complete solution builds on that expertise and leverages the synergies of Enterprise Resource Planning and e-business to minimise costs for businesses”, adds Manuel Grenacher, CEO of coresystems ag.
Developed by coresystems and certified by SAP, the “coresuite eCommerce go” interface enables the exchange of data between SAP Business One and ePages online shops. In addition to preconfigured online shops with a standard interface to SAP Business One, coresystems offers a service package for customising the interface. ePages helps customers by means of Design & Consult packages for designing and creating online shops.
“E-commerce now plays a pivotal role in most industries. A professional solution is an important aspect in the portfolio of our sales partners for SAP Business One”, explains Andreas Naunin, who is Head of SME and a Member of the Management Board at SAP Germany. “’ePages for SAP Business One’ gives even our relatively small customers an opportunity to simply and professionally establish a business presence online.”

Google Nexus One – ready for Business Apps – coresystems rely on the new device
The Nexus One. In the modern climate of hyped (and over-hyped) smartphone launches, Google’s official entry into the phone-sales game has excelled in a department where many find difficulty: generating legitimate excitement. Of course, long before the name Nexus One or the recent bounty of pictures and details existed, the very concept of a “Google Phone” had been ingrained in the public conscience, predating even the Open Handset Alliance and Android itself; the company dabbled in the concept of direct sales through its offering of the Android Dev Phones 1 and 2 (alias Ion), but this time, it’s a public retail ordeal, not a couple of one-off developer specials. The genuine-article Google Phone is finally here — for better or worse.
The device, a Snapdragon-powered, HTC-built phone looks — on paper, at least — like the ultimate Android handset, combining a newly tweaked and tightened user interface with killer industrial design. A sleek, streamlined phone that can easily go toe-to-toe with the iPhone 3GSs, Pres, and Droids of the world, powered by the latest version of Android (2.1 “Flan,” if you’re counting), and hand-retooled by Google.
coresystems developers works on a Google Nexus One App for SAP Business One. More information coming soon.
